Gettin' people married happily ever after

Alrighty. Hope you all had a good week! This week was pretty sweet up here in Mirador, got a ton done!

First things first Isamar will be baptized this Friday! She's super cool and super ready, another Elder that's in the zone is going to baptize her because he served in Mirador and started teaching her! It'll be super cool and honestly everyone's just pumped for it haha.

Second things second, Walter and Janeth are planning on getting married!!!!!!!!!! Janeth wants to be baptized so Walter was totally on board and they both agreed on marriage and we invited them to pray about a date, never thought I'd be a wedding planner on the mission but looks like it'll be that way.:) Walter is still struggling with the Word of Wisdom but I'm honestly not worried, he's too good of a guy to just see his wife and daughter be baptized and not be with them haha, Elder Letham and I's plan is working really well haha, one at a time.

Last things last Ivan is still listening to us but he's out of town so he couldn't come this Sunday which was sad but we're planning on inviting him to baptism this week. Love that guy.

This week we had a conference and interviews with President, (he finally made it down here to Puno) super nice conference, interviews are always my favorite actually, President is just a cool little buddy you have your whole mission.

But yah that's pretty much it in terms of missionary stuff, I mean Angelica made some bomb orange chicken the other day, I almost cried when I walked into the kitchen. She's the best pensionista ever I don't ever want to leave. I also realized this week that I'm never ever going to learn how to cook well. Pensionistas are great (fantastic) but man I'm gonna come home having learned absolutely no home-making skills lol.

Today's been a good P-day as well, played some more rugby with the rest of the missionaries from Puno. So yah I hope you all have a good week!
D&C 6:32-33

32 Verily, verily, I say unto you, as I said unto my disciples, where two or three are gathered together in my name, as touching one thing, behold, there will I be in the midst of them—even so am I in the midst of you.
33 Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward.

Love you all! I didn't take a lot of pictures this week so here's some from Elder Paez!

Pic with balloon- So yah the mission celebrated my birthday this week! 4 months later...

I don't know which one but there's a picture of us in a mototaxi, they're hilarious dinky little cars, just google it:)

Too much rain for one week

Okay well I'm glad today is nice and sunny cause this week has been wet and miserable haha. This week was actually really long and hard! It poured all week and it was freezing, all the people that we had an appointment with canceled, (I guess if it's raining we can't do stuff inside either haha) BUT Isamar and Ivan came to church this week!

Isamar is going to be baptized at the end of this month and is our pensionistas daughter-in-law! She's super cool and knows everything perfectly so she's super fun to teach cause she'll just throw out these questions that you would never hear from an investigador haha. Ivan is a bro, he stays for all 3 hours of church and goes to all the activities, he's already friends with a lot of the young men. Super happy and chill guy, this week we're going to work a lot with him so I'm excited to see how it goes. Walter and Janeth are progressing as well, Janeth wants to be baptized and we invited them to get married this past week! Little by little this family will eventually live happily ever after. Walter wants a little bit more time to think things through which is totally perfect, as long as they're thinking about it;) Awesome family, they are people in my mission that I will never ever forget. I always had that little dream before my mission to teach a cute little family and man it's the best I can't explain it.

Speaking of which, there's a lot of things that happen on my mission that I don't really talk about cause I can't explain it! haha, I have tons of spiritual experiences every week but not to be selfish but they're mine! Just know I try my best to tell you guys what's going on and good stuff that's happening:) Elder Letham and I talked a lot about these kinds of experiences, miss that guy! But Elder Paez and I are having a blast, I'm learning so much spanish that I never knew existed haha, love learning about different cultures and stuff. I'm blessed to already have had a companion from Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, and the U.S!

Hope everyone's doing well, enjoy the summer heat! I'm so cold.

ALMA 5:48-49

48 I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name.
49 And now I say unto you that this is the order after which I am called, yea, to preach unto my beloved brethren, yea, and every one that dwelleth in the land; yea, to preach unto all, both old and young, both bond and free; yea, I say unto you the aged, and also the middle aged, and the rising generation; yea, to cry unto them that they must repent and be born again.
 Love you all!

Sorry it's kinda late, internets here don't like missionaries

Soccer Soccer Soccer

So! I have a new companion! Elder Paez from Argentina, super funny guy, This first week was actually really hard to understand him, Argentina has a whole different world of Spanish but I'm learning;)

This week was good, it rained a ton which was annoying cause Elder Letham escaped right before that. Super sad to see Elder Letham leave, it's been a blast, all good things come to an end though:/

So all everyone's talking about here is soccer cause Peru is actually doing good for once and could make it to the "Mundial" so we played soccer this morning for P-day and Elder Paez always talks to our investigators a ton about soccer while I sit back wishing I could talk to someone who at least knows what Hockey is haha. Our investigators are doing good, Walters having a little bit of trouble but Janeth wants to get baptized so that'll be perfect, it was the plan from the start anyways:) They do need to get married though so we'll be talking with them about that this week. We're teaching a bro named Ivan, he's like 16 and went to church with us this week! For all 3 hours! And he loved it so he'll be coming back this Sunday;)

So yah we're having tons of fun! Our pensionista Angelica is like my best friend now and she makes such good fooooooood, I found hot dogs in the supermarket we have down here and I told her about it and she bought like 100 so she's kinda the best. Hope you all had a good week!! Let me know how you're all doing!

Mosiah 14:4-6

Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we, like sheep, have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquities of us all.

I'm gonna put some pics of me and Elder Letham as a memorial:')

Camila's Baptism / Transfers

OKAY. What a week. Super busy and stressful but we got it done. Camila was baptized on Saturday! It's a huge step for that family, her parents are opening up way more now and even brought ALL their cousins and siblings to church on Sunday! It was insane the amount of investigators we had there, it made up like half the attendance. Camila's awesome cause she just set the example for her family and we're going to work so hard with them this transfer.

Speaking of which...Elder Letham is headed off to the forests of Abancay:( Gonna miss that guy. We've had some pretty dang good memories and times here. My new companion is from the same group as Elder Letham, his name is Elder Paez from Argentina!! Time to work on my Argentina accent;) But super pumped for that and pumped to keep working here in the best sector ever. It's been a really good past couple of transfers and we're gonna try to keep all that going!

I hope you all had a good week!!! And I hope you have a good one!

1 Nephi 11:17

17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.
