Third Time's a Charm

Alrighty. So there were transfers today. I still can't believe what happened but I guess the mission just loves to surprise people haha. I'm leaving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was only here in Andahuaylas one transfer and I'm half upset half excited, I just wish I had more time here! It's all happening insanely fast which stinks cause I have to start traveling tonight, today will be full of saying goodbye and packing! I'm really sad to have to leave Franco and Jessica, it sucks when these trasnfers come out of nowhere and you have no time to prepare yourself haha. In our mission they tell us what's happening Monday morning, so you literally have 0 time to do anything which stinks. BUT you guys will never guess where I'm going:)

Back to Puno baby.

SO this is the third time I'm heading back and I'm pumped, I will be a zone leader over the zone Bellavista -The exact same zone I've been in the last 2 times I was in Puno:) I'm really excited because I know the area so dang well. My ward is called Tupac Yupanqui. I will be with Elder Reyes who's from Ecuador! I met him awhile back and he's a really nice guy so I mean what else can I ask for. I'm so excited for the next couple of months, it's just tripping me out a lot because I totally had it in my head that I was going to finish my mission here in Andahuaylas, but gotta love surprises.

The mission is a roller coaster, you get so attached to different people and places and things like this happen haha, it messes with my feelings. Such awesome experiences and I'm excited for whats to come.

I hope you all have a good week! I'm gonna go pack and then travel for 17 hours!!

2 Nephi 32:3

2018 FIFA World Cup

This week was harddd, South America loves to just shut down as a continent when there's Soccer happenin. It's cool to be apart of the culture and see how much this sport influences the country but jeez.

We still got to visit a lot of people but we were actually in Abancay till Wednesday night, the conference was really really good, it was just our zone cause we're so dang far away from everyone, but it was cool to have a personal little conference with President, I learned a lot, it was a fun one too. They celebrated some of our birthdays as you can see, (thank you elder Bogh for holding up the sign just for the picture). Fun couple of days.

Thursday to till now we've been back in San Jeronimo doing the good ol stuff that you all know, Franco and Jessica have made a plan to get married, but first they have to take care of their daughter, they found out she's really really sick and they keep having to pay for operations and for the trip to Lima so economically it's really hard for them but they said they're going to save up to get married civily in December and then the next year in the temple:) It's a 3 step process- 1. Civil marriage 2. Franco gets baptized 3. Temple marriage. Very good plan if I do say so, I've never seen anything like it haha, it'll be sad because they want me to be here for when they get married civily but I told them when they get to the temple, I'll be there. I hope.

So many times in the mission you don't get to see the fruits or blessings that come out of your work, and that's okay, just gotta accept the Lord's timing, BUT there's always blessings that come out of it, cause I KNOW Franco will get baptized and that they will get married, I just won't be here to see it. I was talking to my comp about this and he said that there's been so many people he's taught that later were baptized or he doesnt know and lost contact with them, so much of the mission is planting so many dang seeds in people that later (or instantly) they accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Victoria is ready for the 30th and we're obviously pumped, she's come to church every single Sunday so far without us even reminding her so I mean she's good. We have been teaching her more of the lessons and she just gets it. So awesome when people just "get it". Her extended family is helping out soooo much, so everything is going super well, basically just waiting for the date to get here y esperando que todo salga bien.

I hope all of you are doing well, crazy how many times I've written by now, hopefully it aint boring. Love you all!!

Paintballing in Peru-Part 2

Awesome week! Victoria now has a baptismal date for June 30th! Really soon! But we feel she's ready and she's been coming to church every week, it's awesome. Anhelo also has a baptismal date but in July!! He feels he needs more preparation and we're totally fine with that, paciencia mis amigos. We're pumped for them, they're extended family is helping us out a ton, they're starting to come to church a lot more now and the whole family's just feeling the motivation haha.

Franco is one of the most intelligent and thoughtful investigators (or people) I've ever met. He's really taking his time to find his answer about the church and about marrying Jessica, this last week we set some goals and made some plans, they really do want to get married but they said they needed more motivation and like a "why" to getting married, but they said we're helping them out a lot and that they've been waiting for something like this to come. they said their main goal is to get married and Franco maybe baptized before I go home in September, it was actually really really touching that that would be something they want, I haven't known them for that long but man I've grown attached haha, they have a 2 year old daughter who's just adorable so that's a bonus. I'll try to get some pictures with them this upcoming week. But we asked them to pray about a specific date to get married and start from there. Really really really really hope they decide on one soon, Franco is progressing a ton, he just lacks that testimony or feeling that says, "this is true" he's going off of a lot of facts and ideas which is totally fine but we're trying to help him find that knowledge that comes from God, AAHGH, really excited for them haha.

There are a lot of hard times on the mission, it's obvious I mean I'm like a million miles away in a 3rd world country, but there are so many times that the people here just make it all worth it, I came to the mission with the idea to help people and those who are in need and those who don't have the knowledge I have, and that's it. Hopefully I'm completing with that goal!

So right now we're in Abancay! We took the trip up (down?) here last night and today we played some more paintball but with a lot more people, super funny. Tomorrow we'll be having interviews here with President and then Wednesday will be our zone conference and we go back to Andahuaylas wednesday night, soooo yah field trip! Hope you all have a good week!!!

Mawwage, Mawwage is what bwings us together..today

So it's been a good week, we've been talking basically with everyone about marriage and trying to help them get papers and stuff like that. We taught Franco again this week, he's been reading the book of mormon a ton which is awesome but he has a lot of questions and doubts still that we're helping him with, we've also been talking a lot about marriage with him too, his soon to be wife (hopefully) Jessica is a member and is helping us a lot with that.
Victoria came to church yesterday! Super excited about that. She just keeps telling us she wants to get baptized every time we see her which is awesome haha, we've had to talk with her parents and stuff like that but hopefully this week she'll have a baptismal date!

We're teaching Eugenia and Juan a lot, they need to get married as well, they're doing really well they just have a lot of questions about why there are so many religions and stuff like that, we've explained it to them a lot but they're still not getting it, just need more patience haha.

Speaking of patience, it's something I've been trying to get better at lately cause a lot of people here, (in Sicuani as well), take a lot longer to understand what we're saying or the point we're trying to get across, it's hard sometimes haha. But I realized how important it is to have that patience, sometimes as missionaries we just want so many things to happen and that everyone will just say yes to us, things like that. But it's cool to see what happens when we're patient with someone or with something.

Hopefully good things happen the next couple of weeks. Grateful for the things I'm learning and the people I'm meeting. Hope you all have a good week!!!

Hebrews 10:36
36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
